Hello. I'm Kristen Michelle, the KM in KM Designs.

There's no arguing that good design makes everything better. I focus on designing clean, uncluttered, and simple to navigate web sites.

Grab a cup of hot chocolate (or your beverage of choice!), sit back, relax, and take a moment to see what I've been working on.

Each of the websites in this portfolio were created as assignments for the Professional Certificate in Web Design offered through Sessions College for Professional Design.

Although all images, logos, and text were originally provided by the instructors, all of these websites have sinced been updated. I have sourced or created all the assets used, with the exception of text, unless otherwise stated.

Curious to know a little more about me as a person and a designer? Read on to learn about my story, my design focus, and things that I love.

my story

As a child I loved to color and draw…and cut…and glue. I loved to create! My basement “studio” was filled with all the craft supplies a budding artist could ever want.

I became a teacher, but never lost my love of creating and designing, and here I am!

design focus

Perhaps it’s the years of working in cluttered classrooms with walls covered with posters and teaching aids. Or maybe it’s from reading every single Hercule Poirot novel (more than once!)...

but I prefer to design simply, cleanly…
with LOTS of white space.

As Poirot is fond of saying, "order & method!"

things i like

When I’m not busy designing, I love to be outside, walking in Crabtree Nature Center and taking photos.

When the windchill dips below zero, I prefer to stay inside cross-stitching, hand lettering, or singing along to the songs in my current playlist.

Do you like what you see? Do you want your website to be beautifully, cleanly, and simply designed?
